פַּרְפֵּר

פַּרְפֵּרch. sam(פרפר, פיר׳ to move convulsively, struggle). Targ. Y. Gen. 42:21 מְפַרְפֵּר קדמנן Ar. a. Levita (h. text בהתחננו, cmp. חָבַט; ed. מפייס לנא).Cant. R. to III, 4 עבד ומפרפר כל ההוא ליליא (not יומא) he spent the entire night moving about restlessly, v. דַּמְדֵּם. Lam. R. to II, 12 הוה מפרפר ומאית struggled in convulsions and died (from starvation). Y.Shebu.III, 34c bot. חמתיה מפרפר ויהב ליה he saw him (the starving man) in convulsions, when he gave him to eat.
